We are Forsyth Youth Rugby Football Club.
Our mission is to share our passion for the sport and the culture of rugby with all kids in and around Forsyth County and to promote and inspire our youth players so that each realizes their fullest potential in rugby and in life.
We’ve been playing youth rugby at Fowler Park in Forsyth County since 2021. As we continue to grow our Club, we’re likewise sharing our love of rugby with neighboring communities. As such, we’re sponsoring youth rugby in neighboring Dawson County, new for the 2024-2025 season.
Supporting our neighboring clubs – so that they succeed and that we all prosper – is part of our rugby culture. We don’t play against another team. We play rugby with that other team, and we then celebrate together with that team after the final whistle blows.
No one “plays” rugby from the sidelines - at games or at practice. We build enough sides (teams) so that everyone plays a full match and gets plenty of playing time.
We are the fastest growing youth sport in the United States, and we share our unique rugby culture with partner clubs both here in Georgia and around the world. Rugby opens doors to different cultures for kids from a young age.
Every player runs with the ball, passes the ball, catches the ball, kicks the ball, defends, and learns to tackle safely!
Our kids like to play hard, get dirty, and build strong camaraderie with their teammates. Our parents recognize that rugby uniquely reinforces “old school” values of courtesy, respect, initiative, discipline, accountability, teamwork, empathy, and sportsmanship. The only responses to our referees by players, coaches, and parents alike, are “Yes, Sir,” “No, Sir,” and, “Sorry, Sir.” We move on and aspire to do better. Rugby is chocked full of life skills. But our greatest core values are to be safe and to HAVE FUN!
We’re not expensive. In fact, we’re amongst the most-affordable youth sports programs in our area. We don’t demand a lot of time or a lot of travel. We start our season in late October and play until early March. Join us after other Fall sports, and cross-train into other sports in the Springtime if you’d like. Or, stick with us for optional rugby travel competition on into April or May.
Come join us for youth rugby!
